This sorta less about NG but this is my favourite platform for art so good a place as any to talk about it.

So Around 2-3 months ago I picked up drawing again and its been fun, getting back int he groove, experimenting etc.

The big thing was gonna be looking out for bigger goals and ambitions, where my priorities are set.

I enjoy making a few dozen illustrations a year, but I really wanna lock in on projects I can truly call my own, wich did used to cause alot of burnout cuz on social media especially that shit can fall on deaf ears p much.

Besides not worrying about that thing anymore, I find the value of their existence to outweight the frustration. So next year obvs im looking to lock in on paintings that do push me and let myself shine, but also work on those game and comic ideas im too much a coward to approach.

This also comes with the fact I started dating again and drawing for said significant other really is....the best shit yknow. Drawing for friends and loved ones kept drawing afloat for years and now I take immense joy in just doing that for days on end.

Its something that will reflect here, but essentially when my lower stakes drawing habits are flexed in private, I feel more like taking risk if I were to post something for the public.

Is this just a rambling as I collect myself from beeing gay as hell for the past weeks or am i onto something ? Who knows.

All I know is that its no use being stuck in your shell when you want to spread your wings.

Its was in fact not lost on me that somehow I got featured on the front page of NG last week wich....p much got my SFW stuff more attention it probably ever has over the last 8 years of drawing, it was pretty awesome.

Really not much to say but thank you all for coming, thank you all for finding that old drawing amusing and I think you will be continue to be amused by future ambitions ^^.

Thought about making a post like this after posting for a week or 2 on NG again, because with the fragility and often hostility of most social media sites, there really wasnt a better place to share and find artwork. I initially got back from a 2 year hiatus after some silly routine art projects and then discovered bluesky. Its gotten me more confident to be less of a hermit. Even before I now start seeing that site start crumbling, I figured it was wise to start using NG for archival and general use.

I am refining my style slowly and I be experimenting alot, but dont feel confident enough to put just ANYTHING, still building confidence to show my old stuff.

Regardless, as a creator I do feel my present and future lies here, what that will branch out to is any ones guess, but I do hope to get ambitious with music and game projects.

All I really want from this site is the same great outlet it is now and I enjoy being a part of it, for real this time.
